As of today, longtime climate leader Deborah McNamara, who has served as Co-Executive Director for a year, assumes leadership of ClimateVoice, a four-year-old group that works to engage employees in moving companies to step up on climate policy. She succeeds ClimateVoice founder and former sustainability executive Bill Weihl, who is living with ALS. Bill will continue to serve the organization on the Advisory Board and to provide the organization with valuable advice on strategy and to serve as a spokesperson and ambassador for ClimateVoice.
“It’s been a privilege to co-lead the organization with Deb for the past year,” Weihl said. “I’m excited to see further progress and impact in the coming years under her vision and expert leadership.”
“I am looking forward to building on Bill’s amazing legacy and leading ClimateVoice during this tipping point moment for climate policy,” McNamara said. “ClimateVoice is playing a critical role in mobilizing the private sector to catalyze climate policy progress at the speed and scale needed, and I’m excited about our impact to date, and the opportunities ahead.”
“I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Deb, Bill and the talented team in furthering the organization’s reach and impact in its critically important mission,” said Advisory Board Chair Kathrin Winkler. “It is such an honor to serve as a member of the Advisory Board for ClimateVoice since its inception, and to experience how it has amplified its voice and expanded its influence.”
ClimateVoice, founded in 2020, is a project of Tides Center.
